We Strangers follows a commercial cleaning woman whose life is turned upside down when she starts working for a rich family across town, and in doing so, she begins to shift her personality to fit in with her new employers.
About The Team
Anu Valia (Director, Writer) is an Indiana-born, New York-schooled filmmaker whose award-winning short films have screened across the country and abroad. Her shot film, Lucia, Before and After, won the Jury Prize for US Fiction at Sundance Film Festival and screened at over 50 festivals around the world. Anu’s feature film, We Strangers, is supported by Cinereach, Sundance Institute, Women in Film, Tribeca Institute, IFP, and Hamptons International Film Festival. She is a Big Vision Empty Wallet 2018 fellow, a 2017 New York Film Festival Artist Fellow, and a 2017 artist resident of SPACE at Ryder Farm. She’s proud to be an ambassador for the American Film Showcase, a U.S film diplomacy program promoting arts involvement and education abroad.
