About the team

Ana Asensio is a director, writer, and actress from Spain, currently living in Brooklyn, New York. Her first feature film as a writer/director, Most Beautiful Island won the Grand Jury Prize at SXSW 2017. The film was nominated for the John Cassavetes Award at the Film Independent Spirit Awards 2018 and played in over fifty film festivals worldwide. Asensio has acted in several dramatic television shows in Spain. Her North American film credits as actress include: Tu Me Manques by Rodrigo Bellot, The Afterlight, by Craig Macneill and Alexei Kaleina, Zenith, by Vladan Nikolic; and, the HBO short film, Betty La Flaca, by Hugo Perez. She has produced and performed in three award-winning contemporary one-woman shows that toured around the world. Asensio also adapted the best seller Spanish novel Mica’s Skin into a one-woman play. Ana hopes to shoot Silent, her second script, in 2019.
